Spike says:
- Medium color, no head. I had never heard of Frostie
until I moved back east and saw it at Costco, where they sell a case
of cans for $4 (out west Costco sells Dad's for the same price). I picked
it up, we drank it, but I wasn't impressed. In fact, I wasn't paying
attention and after a while the case was gone and I still hadn't reviewed
it! Well, everyone knows that drinks from bottles taste better than
drinks from cans, so when I saw it in bottles at a Flying J truck stop
(for 79¢ a bottle) I had to pick some up. I'm sorry to report it's
the same root beer, can or bottle. The word that comes to mind is "thin".
It's as it's missing something. The taste is not bad (surprising, since
the flavoring is the last ingredient on the list), though it tastes
more like something mixed up with root beer extract. A slight wintergreen
note. Quite carbonated. Seems sweeter than most. This is a good picnic
root beer (especially at $4/case) or would be good over ice cream. As
a stand alone root beer, well, it's drinkable. I'll have to give it
a C+.
